Combi boiler frustration!

Hi there, I'm a new member to this site and hope someone can help me.
I have a Europa 24 combi boiler which was installed already in my new house. It was working fine until one day the flame would not ignite. On inspection it was found that a small leak from the cold water in had ruined the PCB. This was replaced with a brand new part and installed exactly as the old one was. The boiler then fired up nicely with good pressure and temp. When the CH system had filled all but two radiators the boiler cut out (aargh!). I bled all radiators and there was quite a bit of air in the system, with this done I then refilled the system by the top-up (lost pressure). Now the boiler refuses to light. There is no clicking noise or voltage to the igniter?! Sorry if this is long winded but I seem to have hit a brick wall.

If you choose to use acronynms, please define them, e.g. PCB for me means polychlorinated biphenyls (which are carcinogens). I do not have a clue what CH means.

Why use acronymns if you are only using them once?

Wink

Does the PCb stand for the board???.
I then refilled the system by the top-up (lost pressure).
Dont you have a auto fill valve on it????

On most modern combi boilers they have either a thermal resetting or manual resetiing over heat stat. Which means if the boiler over heats some times due to low or no pressure in the boiler or sticking pump the over heat stat kicks in stopping the boiler from working.

Thermal resetting will reset and allow the boiler to work once the boiler cools down.

Manual requires some one ( usually a technician or engineer )
to reset the stat. Normaly positioned on the heat exchanger with a small reset button.

The gentlemen is using words used in the UK.

PCB = Printed circuit board.
CH = Central Heating.

Most systems in the UK are sealed combi systems like the baxi or Viessmen wall hung boilers you guys are used to across the pond.
