Gas furnace is not shutting off

gas furnace is not shutting off

Hello, I have a Hydro Therm natural gas furnce in my house for about 20 year running whitout any problem till this morning, I turned on the zone thermostat in the living room. After 1/2 hour shot it off but the furnace stayed on, it will not shot off unless I turn off the power! Any advice is wellcome. Thanks

You have a boiler, not a furnace.
In any case, it sounds like the aquastat is malfunctioning. How hot does the boiler get? Another possibility is if you have zone valves, it may be sticking & telling the boiler to keep running.

Grady , thanks for your advise, first I stand corrected I have a boiler not a furnace. One of the motorized valve was sticking. I got it free and now it is functioning well. My question is should it be replaced or lubricated or any oder way to service the valve. Thanks again. Sandor.
