relief valve problem

Question relief valve problem

i have a 40 gallon GE electric hot water heater, i noticed that my relief valve drips pretty good about every 30 minutes or so, i thought well i have a bad relief, i replaced it, i still i have the same problem!
well i thought i had a bad thermastat, i replaced upper and lower thermastats, i still have the same problem, something is causing the relief valve to do it's job i just don,t know what....
any ideas on what i need to do..............

Relief Valve

You might want to add an expansion tank. Make sure you get one for hot domestic water not a boiler expansion or well tank.
