Burnham Boiler Intermittent

system fires up ok but only runs for 1 min. before shutting down.
I am thinking it could be circulator pump and high limit switch shuts system down?
The pump is a B&G NRF22 - it is not hot to the touch -

Are you using zone valves or a circulator pump for each zone? If no zone valve, does the thermostat connect to the pump or the relay/aquastat first? How many zones do you have?

It sounds like you are running a single pump and that the zone valves or relay are too blame, but more info including probably a couple of trouble shoot tests are needed to narrow it down.

Only one pump and no zone valves
this is one loop system to small apt.

Can you tell if the circulator is running ?

Do the pipes get hot at any distance from the circulator ?

When you say it goes for a minute and shuts down, it's not tripping the control on the burner, right ? I mean, you don't need to push the reset button to get it to fire again, do you ? If that's the case, then you have a problem with the burner itself.

When it shuts off, what temperature is showing on the boiler gauge ? Is it actually hitting high limit (appx 160-180*F) ?

it seems that the thermostat was the problem - not calling properly - also there was some air in system -
What is the high limit proper setting? the dial shows up to 240F?

Usually 180*F ... sometimes less, usually not more for a baseboard system.

if the system fireups and everything is in place , could be the flame sensor.

if its a honeywell intermittent control board .

If you dont have a spare flame sensor try to clean it with some sand paper.
