We have an older bungalow with a basement with hot water radiator heat. We need to bleed two of the main floor rads every other day in order to keep the psi on the furnace under 20. We also notice that the furnace runs for at least 2 hrs and then the rads are red hot and untouchable. We notice that the heat does not come on when the temperature is below 20 celsius even though we have the thermostat set for 22 celsius. Help????? Who should we call....plumber or electrician or furnace repair guy....or can we fix this easily ourselves????? Thanks in advance.

Hi there! I would like to install 4 radiators apx size is 3 feet by 30 inch height. These are the older cast iron free standing rads. The problem is that i dont want to break into my existing system. I do have oil and gas available/. My existing system is a oil gravity feed burner and very old. It still works but i am not knowledgable to mess with it. I am building a addition out back and am low on funds. I was thinking of some kind of hotwater tank with a circulater and one thermostat. are there any plans or instructions for these kinds of systems around? any ideas would be great thx. / . .
