Circulator on Supply or Return

Is there any benefit from having the pump on the return or the supply side?

Thanks!

It depends on the application. In the old days pumps didn't like heat so they put them on the return. These days that doesn't matter. Simpler boilers probably do well to have the pump on the supply after the expansion tank and air elimination device. Many modulating condensing boilers require it to be on the return to keep the pressure and flow up.
