gas boiler flooded won't kick

Hey folks, 30 year rain here in NY and I got flooded. Was able to get hot water heater fired up, but, boiler another story. Both Gas systems.

The water was pupmed out and best I can tell burners were under water. I'm able to get pilot working, but, the boiler won't kick. Thermostat seems to be calling and electric seems good. Green light at boiler is on. Am I missing a reset switch or something??? Could burners be full of water blocking gas???? Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks Eric,

Hey tried to use the word buton, but it was starred out. Pretty cool!!!

You can have so many things Id say call a tech here . Do you have 24V to the valve. Is the valve shorted out and bad?????

Ed, Thanks for the reply. Can't get anyone for a couple of days, I'm on for Wed. or Thurs. . Seems whole county flooded out.

I'm semi handy(famous last words) if you could point me in the right direction!!! I'll check on the valve in the am and get back to you. Any suggestions in the interim would be helpful.

Should I leave pilot lit and hope it's electric that needs to dry out???

Id let the pilot light on. How old is this boiler if it has a pilot light ????

Ok if you have a meter. You say the power is on and the tstat calls for heat. first does the tstat turn the boiler on or the pumps on ???? If pumps then the boiler should turn itself on and off at 160o on 180ooff. So with all power on at the gas valve do the two wires on the gas valve read 24V?????

Ed, Thanks !! Basement got about 3 more inches of water overnight. Have to pump it out again. It will take a while for me to follow up with your much appreciated advice.

I will follow the electric back to the pump and make sure it's working. As of last night there was no activity at boiler except for the green light being on. No pump action or boiler firing.

This is a new property for me, but, boiler doesn't appear to be that old. Although there is a pilot instead of electronic ignition!!!!! Thanks again, Eric

Ed, Thanks for your time. Turned out it was the valve. 53.00 and it's good to go. The voltage and everything was good, just couldn't get any gas through the valve. Once again thanks for your time. Eric
