Question low water cutoff

I have an old oil fired, steam boiler, which I was told needed a new low water cutoff control. My question is can it be repaired? Looks like some sort of float with old mercury switch. System works just safty issue, no leaks. Thanks

Float type LWCO's can be repaired. Depending on the deterioration of the unit it may make more sense to replace.
