Smith vs Peerless
Does anyone know how a Smith Cast Iron Boiler - (Series 8) compares to Crown or Peerless. My oil company is saying that the Smith is the best value, but can't find any good information / reviews on Smith. Anyone have any experience with the Smith Cast Iron Boiler company? They've got a lifetime warranty, so it appears they have a quality product. I know Buderus is the best, but i don't want to pay an extra $2k.

Smith
It's been at least 15 years since I've installed or even seen a new Smith. Many had bad experiences with them when they used rubber seals between the sections. I think now they use push nipples.
In my opinion, it would be money well spent to spend the extra 2K for the Buderus. A good cast iron boiler should last 30+ years. $2,000 over 30 years is a measly $5.55 per month or $66.67 per year. Come on now.
