I have a New Yorker boiler, with 3 zone valves. This fall when I started the boiler the aquastat would not cut out at high limit. I purchased a new aquastat L8148E 1265, Installed it and I have the same problem! I can adjust the setting from 180 to 240 with no response, it just keeps on heating! I have to manually turn my furnace on and off. I disconnected all the zone valves and opened the two where we need the heat. I connected the one thermostat to the aquastat and I know it works to shut down the system when the temp. rises to setting. Can someone tell me what I have done wrong? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think so, not without being there to see the system. I believe the best advice is to call a technician. Your situation sounds as though it could be potentially dangerous.

Please don't mess with it anymore, call someone stat!

Dangerous

I agree. Shut the system down & call a qualified service person.
