Safty Contol Components Info For Steam Systems

Can anybody out there recommend a good read for a do-it-yourselfer re the various safety control mechanisms found on household steam systems? I recently purchased Dan Holohan,s excellent 'Lost Art of Steam Heating' but it covers the theory & repair of the actual steam system but not anything related to the various safety control mechanisms such as the low water cutoff, high pressure cutoff, high temperature cutoff, thermocoupling, auto water-feed, etc. (obviously all systems on my gas boiler). Thanks! DAS

It has been a long time since I read it but I think that Low Pressure Boilers by Fredrick M. Steingress may help you.

Amazon has a few used copies available.

You might also try your public library.
