Vallaint ecopro 831 pressure too high

We had an additional radiator installed today. The heating engineer then adjusted the pressure on the Vaillant before he left . However tonight the pressure showed on the control panel display as out of the recommended 'grey' and past the 'red' . It was at 2.7 bar. I have switched off the heating - it is still in the red but down to 2.2 bar. I won't be able to get the engineer back till Monday. Is there any immediate action I should take? Will it be dangerous to use the heating again in the meanwhile?
I have found following links to pdf's for manuals but have no idea how to proceed.

Any advice will be most gratefully received,
Thanks
John

You could let out a bit of water from a rad until you get down to 1 BAR.

Thanks 'Who'
I've let out about half a litre which has bought it down to 1.2 bar - well within the 'grey'
Water is trickling out much more slowly from the radiator when I let it out. Do I need to carry on till 1.0 bar? Should I still call the engineer back on Monday, or should that be the problem solved?

I appreciate your help,
John

John, that depends on how well the expansion tank works. It has to absorb the expansion pressures of the water when it gets heated.

I'd try it out -- but keep a close eye on it. I'd definitely follow up with the engineer and find out why the pressure was so high.
