crack in my 10 year cast iron Burnham boiler

Gentlemen,

I have a crack in my 10 year old cast iron Burnham Boiler. The quote I recieved was for $2130.00. for labor only to replace the boiler only. It is under warrenty. I had Silver King solder inserted in the boiler and it is now runnng fine with no visible leak. How long will that last and do I absolutly need to replace the boiler? Is $2130.00 high? On 4-15-04, Wheelhorse said it takes approx. 2 men 2 hours each. I assume a disposal fee extra. Should I negotiate down? Should I get 2 more quotes?

Thanks for the help!

Warranty

I presume this a Model V-7. If I remember correctly, the warranty on them was 100% on the cast for 10 years & pro-rated after that. Are you sure you are getting 100% on the boiler block? I did one a couple of weeks ago & it took 2 of us about 3 hours, plus a third man for about an hour to help get the old out & new in the basement. Total labor was for 7 man-hours. If you are getting full parts warranty, the labor sounds awfully high.
