popping noise radiators

Exclamation popping noise radiators

Our hot water heat sysytem makes popping noises when it first turns (in the pipe and raditors) it quits when the water temp reaches hot we live in MICHIGAN,,,cold place

without any more details, perhaps what you're hearing are "implosions"...air bubbles collapsing. This is something that could happen by the lines at the upper points in a hot water heating loop if the pressure in the system is too low.

Do you have pressure readings of 12psi or higher on a cold start?

theres a red air tank next to the furnace (BOILER) DOES THAT HAVE TO HAVE READING OF THE 12#'S ????
