Honeywell L8148E and Effikal Damper

Hi,
a friend of mine has just bought a new Honeywell L8148E Aquastat relay to replace his old one. He has an Effikal damper which was directly wired into the old relay, but on the new one there is a six pin molex socket. Is it possible (or wise) to connect the effikal damper to the relay, and if so does anyone know where we can get a harness/adapter ? Alternatively, does anyone know the pinout of the molex socket ?

Thanks in advance

I think we need more info ...

What was the exact model of the original aquastat ? and the new one ?

What is the exact model of the Effikal damper ?

In the meantime, check out :

Honeywell website

to see if you can find and compare both aquastats, and then Google up Effikal and see if you can find data on the damper.

Wiring issues such as this are very difficult to resolve without being there to actually see and feel ... even pictures will be almost worthless in this regard.

Many thanks for your quick response. The original unit was an L8148E-1216, the new unit is an L8148E 1257. The Effikal damper is marked with a model number of RVG P7BK.

I've been googling quite extensively but we're both still at a loss as to the intricacies of each device.

Thanks again!

The problem may be harder than you think. Some manufacturers wire the dampers differently. Check with the boiler manufacturer for a wiring diagram. They may or may not have one dependent on the age of the boiler.
