Question Boiler pilot is light but boiler wont fire.

Hi all I am new to this so hello to all.

I have a Gas Hot Water Heating boiler I was downstairs this morning when I heard the pilot lighting every few minutes and the boiler was not fireing.

It has an electric ignition it fires the pilot stays lit but the boiler does not light. The pilot resets it self and a 30-60 seconds later it lights again but the boiler does not light this continued for 15 minutes so I shut the thermastat off as I don't want to kill the ignighter.

The gas line is fine and it is getting gas but it just won't kick over.

Can anyone help me figure this one out ???

Thanks so much !!!

What brand/model boiler ?

It sounds to me as though the sensor that tells the system that the pilot light is lit before opening the main gas valve has gone south ...

Probably an easy fix for a good technician ...
