Hi, I just found this forum and started to read as much as I could. There is so much to learn. I'm trying to get familiar with water heating system. I have a 4 unit appartment block where the baseboard tin boxes are either missing at some places or badly damaged. I found nowhere to buy new ones. I'm looking for an economical and easthetical way to cover the exposed radiators. By the way I don't even know the real name for it. Is tin radiator boxes... Thanks alot for your time.
hello guys !! I am new to this forum and new to this internet forum concept. So please excuse me for any mistakes. So this is my situation ..... I own my home for last 10 years. Has a Burnham oil burner (Series 7). I was told yesterday by my service guy who came to service my boiler (he works for my oil supplier) that burners cast iron plate has crack and will have to replace the boiler. He showed me the water leak as an evidence of his assessment. The question is what is the right way to go about of replacing the boiler (A) Approach a certified plumber to do the job or (B) Get the work done through oil company. And why one is better then the other? My oil company says they can get some rebate from the Burnham company if i buy another boiler from them. Can a plumber do the same for me and who makes reliable boilers? Burnham, Weil mcClain, Peerless....
