Relocate Bleeder valve?

I'm in the midst of remodeling a small bathroom in our older home. The bathroom is on the 2nd floor. We have a gas fired Crown boiler in the basement, with a Taco recirculation pump.

I've removed the existing heating element/register from the bathroom:

The goal is to replace it with a section of hydrotherm brand baseboard purchased at lowes. (large register removed due to knee clearance issues while sitting on the toilet)

I assume the bleed valve is required, since this bathroom heating unit appears to be the first in the heating loop, and is directly above where the outlet from the boiler/recirc pump is located in the basement.

Any suggestions on how to relocate the bleeder valve/vertical standoff to 3/4 copper sweat fittings/T/90/whatever so i can still have the ability to purge air out of the heating system. I've walked through the plumbing section @ HD/lowes and couldn't find anything like the cast end tank on the heating element to allow me to get from a 3/4 sweat connection to what then appears to be a 1/8 NPT for the bleed valve.

Any help appreciated!!! Thanks,

Matt

Matt, you may not find what you need at Lowe's, etc. Check with plumbing/heating supply houses if you can't find it. What you are looking for is called a 'baseboard tee'.

It's more like a 90* with a 1/8" tapping on the elbow.

Like this (1/2" shown, but available in 3/4" also):

I would install this on the downstream side of the baseboard.

One thing to mention though... you won't get as many BTU out of the same size section of baseboard as you did out of the old convector... hopefully the old one was oversized.

New baseboard is almost 2.5X as long as the old one, + the bath will have an light/fan/heat overhead unit + floor heat for the ceramic tile. I think it'll work out alright. Thank you very much for the help.

Yeah, you'll be fine ...

Since it's in the bath, and there's probably minimal paint thickness on the baseboard cabinet, consider a couple spray coats of good old Rustoleum on the covers before installing...
