Utica gas steam boiler

Can anybody give me the pro's and con;s on a Utica gas steam boiler, i have heard of them, just wondering if they are good boilers, with a good warranty and of course a reasonable price, i am comparing this company with 2 others before deciding which way to go here. Thanks Jim

Utica Boilers

Utica has been in the boiler business a long time. They used to make boilers for a lot of different companies. My experience with Utica is "good" overall. They were (are?) a relatively inexpensive boiler. Very little steam in my area so I can speak specifly about their steamers. It seems they only make one gas fired steam boiler. http://www.uticaboilers.com/product_detail.asp?key=35

For gas-fired steam, I believe the Smith G8 is the standard against which other steamers are often measured.

The new Burnham Megasteam is the most efficienct steam boiler on the market and has a three pass design. The Three pass design keeps all the flue gases below the water line which avoids the super heated iron which is proven to be the cause of most steam boiler failures.
