I installed a outdoor wood boiler last fall.I went with the brazzed plate heat exchanger 20 plate in size.At first it heated the water but nothing like my water heater did.By the end of winter I shut the hot water side off and went back to propane.I am sure it has been istalled right what could be the problem?I am thinking maybe I should have went with the side arm heat exchanger instead is this a better way to go?

The burner on my Burnham V-1 was experiencing some delayed ignition and, at times, wasn't firing at all. I figured I'd replace the nozzle and clean out the soot. I got a lot of it out, and have more to go, but the hot, moist weather is causing a lot of condensation which makes the job even more unpleasant than it usually is. So, the job is on hold till things cool down and dry out a bit. Cleaning the fallen soot and gunk out of the combustion chamber destroyed the bottom liner and, of course, the molded insulation behind the front access plate came out in pieces. I have received a replacement liner kit that I'll put in, once I've got the cleaning done. But I noticed that the target wall liner in the boiler is of a rigid, foam-like material, while the one in the kit is a soft pad. Anyone know how come the difference? Actually, the target wall liner seems to be in fairly decent shape - just a little stained - so, if I don't ruin it in the rest of the cleaning, I'm tempted to not replace it and just do the bottom and front. Would that be a bad idea? (That soft target wall liner looks like a pain to hang and keep in place.)
