Honeywell Outdoor Reset Module

Hey All,

The manual for my Aquastat (L7248C) claims that it is outdoor reset ready, all I need is their special "Outdoor Reset Module", Honeywell part # 50022037-002/U.

Now I am pretty good at internet searches, but this one has left me stumped. I can't find this exact part number anywhere! I find plenty of the -001 version as well as the similar DHW module, but not this one.

Any of you experts know if this is a special order item or perhaps discontinued/replaced?

Thanks!

Barry

I seriously doubt that anyone at Honeywell will even talk to a homeowner... but they probably will give you a telephone for a heating products distributor, who will probably not talk to a homeowner... but, maybe I'm wrong.

This might be the part you need?

Honeywell 50022037 Outdoor Sensor Interface Module for Honeywell EnviraZone Networked Zoning Systems

Then I guess you would need this:

Honeywell C7089U1006 Outdoor Temperature Sensor For VisionPro Series Thermostats

I've never heard of this thing, so can't say if it works or not... and reading through the literature, it seems that it's not what you think it may be... in other words, it's NOT an OUTDOOR RESET SYSTEM, but merely a module that will report outdoor air temperature to any other Enviracom enabled devices on the Enviracom network. It probably would allow you to display the outdoor temperature on the aquastat... not that it would do anything with that information.

Keep in mind that this is also the 001 module, and that the 002 module might be something different.

I still think you would be better off with an ODR from Tekmar or others...

Appears to be brandy new item?

Here is a PDF file that explains that the 002 IS an ODR module.
Last page of the file indicates a date of 09-09 , which means this is why you can't find it, and why it's not a known product, and why only the brand new PDF files for the aquastat show the module wiring ...

http://customer.honeywell.com/TechLi...it/69-2335.pdf

More research:

Yes, this IS a brand new product from Honeywell. I was wondering when they were going to do something useful with the Enviracom system.

One thing though... I get the impression from reading up on this that the older aquastats may NOT be compatible with the outdoor reset... on this page:

Honeywell AquaReset Outdoor Reset System - ForwardThinking

it says:

# Upsell the kit for boiler installations that already include an outdoor reset ready Aquastat
# Outdoor reset ready Aquastats are easily identified in the field with an icon

and to me this means that the older 7224/7248 a'stats may or may not work with this module.

You doubt that they will talk to him but that's not a reason not to call. It's an 800 number. There is nothing to lose.

There is nothing to lose.
Except the time you spent bouncing from one secretary who doesn't know anything to another who doesn't know anything, etc etc ...

Time you could spend on-line looking the stuff up, like I just did. The internet is the 'new telephone' dontchaknow?

One more tidbit about that thing:

The Module AND the outdoor sensor will be sold bundled together under the model number W8735S1000 . I checked a supplier or two in my area and they don't have them / never heard of them. It's just too new.
