Honeywell Synchron Motorized Valve Question
Hi,
I have a Honeywell Synchron motorized valve (V8043D1080) which automatically controls the flow of hot water for my underfloor heating system in my Condo. It's controlled by a thermostat. My issue is that I've been experiencing a problem whereby the motorized valve fails to open to allow hot water into the underfloor heating system. I thought that perhaps this was due to the extended period of time between Summer and Winter where it was never turned on. I opened the valve cover and manually forced the spring loaded lever to move, which it did, and the valve continued to open fully. I thought the system was working perfectly but after only a few short days since using it I attempted to turn it on again by control of the thermostat but the motorized valve failed to open once more.
My question is, are these units known for this issue and can I simply spray some WD-40 onto the spring mechanism to assist the valve in opening because it would seem that it's just getting stuck.
It would be quite a pity to have to continue to manually force the valve open every time I want to warm my place.
