Taco ZVC-406 Question
Hi All,
I have a Taco ZVC-406 with 3 zones. Zone 1 and 2 are heat and zone 6 (priority zone) is hot water. When I raised the heat, zone 1 should have lit up on the zone control but didn't. I checked the connections and jumped out the TT on both heat zones but no lights. When I switched off the Priority switch, zone 1 lit up and opened the zone. Switched it back to priority and the zone lights went off.
I have had the priority switch on for years with no problems.
Anyone know why this might happen?
I prefer to use the priority zone for hot water.
Thanks

Pauly, are you sure that the indirect water heater wasn't calling for heat at the time? If it was, then it was doing what it was supposed to do, give priority to that call...
Is the indirect working properly?

I'm sure. The the storage tank was full of hot water. I know if I shut the boiler down to service it, the heat wont come on until the water heats up the storage tank.
I just can't figure out why the zone control is not recognizing the TT calling for heat unless I shut off the priority switch.
I even hit the reset switch on the circuit board of the zone control. Like I said before, I have left the priority switch on for years with no problem. weird.

I think you gots a sticky zone 6 relay, or a dirty contact... aren't those relays plug-ins ? can you pop the cover and carefully clean the relay contacts with some alcohol and a matchbook cover ? (don't use anything abrasive)

They are plug in's, from what i'm told. I'll try it. If that doesn't work I guess I'll just leave the priority switch off.
At least the heat will work.
