onix ver: pex

I plan on installing radiant heating in the joist space.
I have heard that using pex pipe and the metal transfer plates that there is noise coming from the expansion contraction.
Has anyone experience this? If so just how much noise?

Another way to do it is to use Onix pipe that is a staple up underfloor without heat transfer plates.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
One of the big benifits on using Onix is that it is very flexible which works out big time in underfloor installations.

Pex-al-pex and transfer plates. Excellent conduction with minimal expansion. And so much fun to bend...
