recomendations for remote oil tank guage

Hello,
I'd like to install a remote oil tank level sensor (of some kind) but am having a difficult time finding information on these.

I have a custom indoor oil tank; rectangular welded container that holds around 300gal. I can post more specific dimensions if necessary, but I believe it is approx 4' high, 4' wide, 5-6' long.

I'd like something that replaces (or augments) the standard float level with some sort of electronic read out that can be mounted somewhere about 25' away.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

You have a couple of choices: ultrasonic level detectors or multiple sensors that detect the liquid level. Google for more info.

Probably a simpler approach is to wire an elapsed time meter to your burner supply - you can convert time to gallons used.

We use the rocket from OEM and it works well. It doesn't readout in gallons, but in fraction from 1/4 to full. It has a dip switch for tank depth so it should work for you too.

I've had the Rocket for two heating seasons now and it's been great.
It alarms when low.

Exclamation OEM Rocket Unreliable

If you live in a cold climate, don’t trust your well-being on this device!!!!

My OEM Rocket failed after 9 months. Tank was empty, while the remote readout showed 1/2 tank.

Unit is guaranteed, but manufactured ignored my request for a replacement.
