furnace runs only for a minute than shuts off

my gas furnace burnham series 2 27years old
it is natural vented, pilot stays lit, when it goes on the motor runs fine, there are flames, but then shuts down after a minute

There are a number of 'safety switches' that could be doing what they are supposed to be doing, i.e. shutting down the burner for safety reasons... or they may in fact be defective.

There are 'blocked vent switches', 'flame rollout switches', and maybe some others...

It's very possible that the flue passages in the boiler are clogged up with rust flakes, soot, etc... and the 'flame rollout switch' is detecting this condition and shutting down.

I think the best advice you could get would be to call a technician for service... unless you are skilled at using a multimeter to diagnose the fault... and then possibly disassembling the boiler to clean the flue passages, or replacing defective components...
