Bell & Gossett series 100 pump short cycling

I have a problem with a Bell & Gossett series 100 pump short cycling.

It turns on for 5 second and turns off for about a minute and repeats the same sequences. Eventaully the motor get very hot. I can hear the water pushing thru the pipes and I have bled the radiators. Anyone have any thought on what the problem might be?

Thanks
Sam Watson

The first thing I'd try would be oiling the bearing assembly. The oil port you want is the one closest to the pipe. Use 10w30 motor oil if you can't find any straight 20w. Add about a tabespoon full of oil. If you get lucky, maybe that will help. If you get too much oil in there it will run out the weep hole in the bottom.
