1" Fin Tube Baseboard

Hello I am remodeling the kitchen and I need to replace the 5' hot water baseboard with a 2' or 3' baseboard. The problem is, it is 1 " fin tubing. I mostly see 3/4 on the internet and at home depot. Anybody know where I can find 1"?

I don't think it is a good idea to use 3/4 on a 1" system, correct?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Depends entirely upon how it is piped to the system. If you have separate supply and return headers it is immaterial as long as you have sufficient heat emission from the heater.

HOWEVER, cutting back some forty or fifty percent on the length of the baseboard will indeed reduce the heat (BTUs) released by that heater by a similar factor. You may need to have some other type of heat emitter or perhaps use high-output baseboard or even add additional heaters somewhere else in the area.

If you have a "series loop" system, where the out flow of one baseboard goes directly (more or less) to the inflow of the next baseboard then changing the size (diameter of the finned tube) or the length will definitely affect the entire system.
