gas water heater got wet and now won't fire
I was replacing a leaking inlet pipe on a gas water heater because it was leaking. I shut off the valve on the line but it didn't close all the way and water got down inside the heater and now the water heater won't fire. I have a lit pilot light but when I move the knob from pilot to on nothing happens.
I was able to replace the line and it doesn't leak but now no fire. Could it be that the element got wet and just needs to dry out?

Never mind. Ran the hot water for a few minutes and it fired right up.
Had a moment of panic when it didn't ignite right away because it usually does when I slide the knob from pilot to on. But I realized that this usually occurs when we have returned from vacation so the water is cold.
Oh the joys of being a DIYer.
