Grundfos pump gasket

My Grundfos circ pump gasket seems to be leaking. Can I use one of those "old fashioned" flat gaskets or do I need to get the "O" style that grundfos ships them with?

Thanks!

Is it a flange gasket where a pipe connects to the pump? If a flange face is grooved for an O-ring, that's what you need to use.

You might try tightening the flange nuts slightly and see if that helps. You can open the pump connections and inspect the O-ring and see what's wrong, but best to have a replacement O-ring in hand or readily available before you do that.

Some Grundfos gaskets are available here: Grundfos Pumps , Pumps , Grundfos Cast Iron Pumps , Grundfos Bronze Pumps - PexSupply.com

The O-Ring type gasket is ideal if the flange is groove for one but a flat gasket will work. Sometimes I've had to use both to get a seal.
