Boiler water pump clicks on and off all the time.
The pump attached to my gas heater (tankless heater) that I believes circulates the water coming out of the boiler clicks on and gives what could be a parts can't move noise for about 5 seconds and then clicks off. It does this all day long and can be heard through out the house. I never noticed this before so I think something is wrong. We are still getting heat in the house and the heat is separate from the hot water. I tried oiling the pump and no change, I am afraid if I call for repair it will automatically get replaced and I wouldn't know if only a minor repair or adjustment was really needed. Any ideas.

Odds are that the pump is seized up and overheating. Usually there's a thermal limit switch that opens and shuts the motor off when it overheats to prevent a fire.
So is the motor hot to the touch?
