Spirovent leaking after some work.

Is it normal for the spirovent to to spit out air bubbles and water after opening the system.
I took my indirect Hwh apart to clean the coil. It is still dripping and bubbling after a few cycles

I capped it for right now. Will there be enough room to take the head off. Not the joist about an inch above the vent

I would think it was venting air from your pipes, like it was made to do.

I would take that cap off. But I am not a pro, just a home owner.

All the air came out and it continued to drip for like 45 minutes before I capped it. Looks like I got another project in front of me

you probably got some crud stuck in the head assembly. try removing it, you should be able to even with the joist up there. then try to clean it up a bit, maybe some vinegar or CLR. they are very expensive to replace so try to clean it up first. a new spirovent is probably about $130-$150, just for the part.

I priced out the head for about $50 on line. I will get a new O ring and try to get it apart later on. I saw a pic on line and it looks close as for getting it of.
