Utica boiler circulator pump

I have a utica boiler it fires and runs but when the circulator relay on the honeywell aquastat clicks the circulator pump doesn't go on unhooked circulator pump and wired it to 110 v and spins freely. Can someone help me trouble shoot?
Thanks

probably a bad relay. check the contacts where the pump terminals are and see if you get 120 when the boiler comes on

Fairly often the problem is actually a cracked solder joint where the relay is soldered to the board. If you know how to solder it's not to terribly difficult to take the board out of the case and resolder the connection.

It could also be burnt and pitted contacts on the relay itself, in which case you would need to replace the whole aquastat relay.

Ohhhh, so there's a 'back story' then... shoulda told us that from the start.

Bought on ebay? "Brand New, Never Used" ?

And what is the reason that you replaced the aquastat? You need to tell us the whole history in this case.

It would also be a big help if we knew the model number of the aquastat.

I replaced the old aquastat about 1 or 2 weeks ago because the circulator relay would just keep clicking and the burner wouldn't fire. as soon as I put the new one in and turned on the burner it fired right up
Thanks
