How to pour steam boiler cleaner?
Hello,
I have a Pearson steam boiler in my house. I am trying to pour Silver King Squick cleaning powder inside. It says - remove the safety valve and pour dry. I located the valve, lifted the arm but its not coming of.
How are these valves removed? Can I just open the cap or do I need to unscrew the whole assembly from the pipe?
valve looks like this

thanks a lot!

I'm first curious as to why you want to do this... please elaborate.
'Pearson' ? or perhaps PEERLESS ?
The handle on top is to open the valve, you can't remove that.
You would need to unscrew the valve from the boiler.
If it's over 5-10 years old, buy a new valve, don't reinstall the old one.
