Hi all, I have a Burnham IN4 gas fired steam boiler, does this have a blower that is power by electricity? what is the electricity actually powering on? Thanks for your time, Sean

Hi Sean, I'm really not clear on your question... can you tell us why you are asking? and a little more info?

If you just want to know what runs on electricity... well, the controls do, the gas valve does, if you have a vent damper, that does...

The model number you mentioned does not have a fan. A fan would be on an INPV4 the PV standing for power vent. The fan and circulator runs on 120v everything else runs on 24vac.

Thank you guys, my real question is about using the furnace with a generator in case of power failure. It was suggested to go with a 6 circuit transfer switch to the main. While that makes sense and sounds good, it's about $800 to install.

Is it possible to get the furnace going on generator another way?

Thanks again,]
Sean

Hi Sean, yes, there's always another way... but I would recommend that you ask this question over in the electrical forum. There are folks there that are better prepared to answer this type of question.
