Gas water heater: pilot light would not stay on - resolved

Hi,

I recently started using this forum and wanted to share a solution I found to an issue. My boiler's pilot light turned off by itself and when I tried to light it back it would not stay on. I researched a little and found that the Thermocouple might be the issue... and it was!

I went to our local Ace and bought a thermocouple. They are universal. After 5 minutes, the pilot was back on and stayed on. Easy and saved me a pricey service call!

Great forum! Thanks!
