Cutting into single loop monoflo system

Hey Guys,

I need to move some copper due to a basement renovation... I"ll be cutting into and moving a small section of a monoflo loop and the associated branch lines.

The plan is to:

1. Close off the valves at the manifold and return, thus isolating the 1st floor loop.
2. Drain the first floor loop.
3. Cut, relocate, and sweat all joints.
4. Refill and bleed.

I'm vague on the refilling/bleeding process. Is there a good method to do so?

All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bryan

You must use care in moving pipes in a monoflo system. Not fittings between the supply and return tee of a piece of radiation. Do not make the tees closer together than they are now to a piece of radiation. Supply and return a section of radiation before you take off the next piece of radiation.
