Need Classic Manager part For EK System 2000 Boiler
I have a System 2000 boiler installed in 1989 that needs the Manager (controller) part. I understand that I'm looking for the "Classic" version.
Does anyone have a source for this item?
Thanks!

Classic manager
EK will not sell to homeowners. However, if you are certain that this is what you need, a plumber, electrician, etc can buy it on a credit card direct. There is a core dredit if the old manager is returned and is repairable.

My boiler service company confirmed it by temporarily substituting a new part, although the new "digital" version (with LEDs), which I understand is not compatible because it monitors a temperature sensor that my boiler doesn't use. I actually have a source for the newer "digital" style, but don't believe it can be retrofit to my older system.
Thanks,

A retrofit is very simple. The aquastat in the return line is removed and the 2 wires are wire nutted together. Replace the well with the correct one for a sensor. Install the sensor in the new well and connect the wires to the left hand quick connect. Of course turn off the power, isolate the boiler and remove the pressure, etc to prevent a mess or personal injury.
I will add that just because the system runs ok with the service board does not necessarily mean that the manager is no good.

Thanks very much for the retrofit information! Could you elaborate a little more on what's entailed with installing the correct "well" and the (then) necessary sensor? I'm not familiar with where / what the "well" is and if the new well and sensor can be sourced as standard boiler parts or are proprietary EK items, and what they would approximately cost.
The problem began with some or all of the three relays controlled by the manager chattering when energized; all relays have been replaced but some chattering continues. The existing manager was removed and found to have obvious dark (burned?) tracks on its circuit board.

An aquastat well is a brass fitting that is threaded into a tee or sometimes directly into a boiler that allows the aquastat to be replaced without having to drain the system. Different makes or types of aquastats have different means of locking the control in place, such as a clamp, a set screw or something similar. In this case the sensor, which is really a digital thermostat, fits into a shorter well that uses a thumb nut to prevent the sensor from being accidentally pulled out.
Ths diagnosis of a failed manager is likely correct but not because of the dark spots on the back. That's fairly common as managers age due to the resistors which get hot when energized. For pricing and replacement why not ask your boiler service company to do the work? They can get pricing and, yes, the sensor/well and manager are the only proprietary parts on the system.
You're just as well off replacing the Classic manager with another Classic.

Thank you for following up! I've just discovered that EK, as I understand it, offers a lifetime warranty on the classic manager's core for 2/3 - 3/4 of its retail value. I'm waiting to hear back from my service comapny.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Yes, but I didn't have enopugh information from my service company (and still don't!) to know how the core credit issue would apply to my circumstances - if at all.
Thanks,
