Excessive oil use
My oil boiler tech. replaced the H/W primary control (R7184U1004) at the end of winter with a Beckett GeniSys model 7505P-1515, Over the summer, with only the domestic water being heated, we used 100 gallons MORE oil than the previous year. Could the GeniSys control, without the Enviracom feature, be the cause of the excessive oil use?
The boiler is a Weil-McLain U03 with an UltraPlus 40 indirect water heater. The oil tank in the basement with the oil line buried under the floor. There is no smell of oil anywhere.

It does not control when the burner is called to fire. Your AQUASTAT does that.
Did the tech monkey with the settings in the aquastat?
What are the settings for your HI , LO , and DIFF on the aquastat dials?

How old is the home?
Is the oil line encased in a plastic jacket, or just bare copper?
