New Boiler runs more

I had my old boiler replaced last month with a new one. When I turn the thermostat to heat the house I notice that the boiler will turn on and off two or three times before reaching the desired temp. The old one used to just continuously run until the temp was reached. Is this just part of how the newer models run more efficiently?

Could be but we would need more info..

What is the make and model of the new boiler?

What was the make and model of the old boiler?

We would love to see some pics of the set up and it may help us identify any installation errors.

thermostat settings

Is this a gas or oil fired boiler?

What type of thermostat?

It could be a cycle setting or anticipator setting at the thermostat that needs adjusted.

How did the contractor size the boiler?
1. Measure the radiation?
2. Off the old boiler?
3. Heat Loss - Measuring all doors, windows, exterior walls.
4. Blower door?
