OCC UNOCC and tstats

Still struggling with Tekmar 363 OCC and UNOCC. Question is
in the winter if house is not occupied should I
1)simply set the Tekmar to UNOCC
or should I
2)set the Tekmar to UNOCC and also turn down the stats to say 45
Thank you

occ Vs. unocc setting on the tekmar only lowers the water temp of the boiler, it does not lower the temp on the thermostat. If the temp on the thermostat is still set to X degrees constantly then the boiler will continue to run due to a call for heat; but the tekmar wont let the boiler water reach too high of a level.

I would set the tekmar to unocc and turn down the stats if the space was not going to be occupied for more than 24hr.
