Clanging hot water pipes
Noise seems to be in area expansion tank/pressure regulator/pressure reduction valve when boiler sends hot water through pipes. Everything else is fine, just a lot of noise.

I checked the expansion tank and there wasn't any pressure. Added some air, bleed air in lines and seems to be working fine. Any ideas what caused 5 year old tank to loss pressure? I have pictures to post but don't know how.

Tim, did you follow the instruction to charge the tank that are found in the 'sticky' post? If not, you may still not have enough air in the tank. Those step-by-step instructions must be followed to the LETTER in order to make it right...

ALL of the newer type expansion tanks lose 1-2 PSI per year. They MUST be checked and charged at LEAST every two years.
This in reality is NEVER done.
2 PSI per year, times 5 years = 10 PSI... no wonder there was no air charge!

Good job on the pics Tim! I knew you could do it!
Those automatic float type air vents, the ones on top of the black air scoop, and on top of the boiler...
Are the small caps on top LOOSE? about a full turn or so? enough that air can escape?
If not, they should be...
If they are closed and leak water when you open them, you can use them to manually vent air for now, but they should be replaced after heating season is done.

You only need to replace them if they leak water. Replacing the caps won't help anything.
You say STEAM is escaping? Your system should not be getting hot enough to make STEAM!
You should be getting AIR out of them, and only intermittently.
How often do you see STEAM coming out?
