Beckett AFG intermittently refuses to start

Hello folks,
My Beckett AFG burner with an Emerson SA55GYKPA-5733 motor on it sometimes won't start. I go downstairs and the reset button is up. I press it, and the motor hums but does not turn, and then if I give it a gentle tap with my foot, it will start. Do I need a new motor, new brushes, or something else? Any ideas? Thanks,
-Josiah

Google the motor, see if there is a starting coil. Some are mechanical and could get stuck. If not, you may need to replace that motor.

the reset button is up.
You're talking about the reset button on the MOTOR itself? or the reset button on the primary control on top of the burner?

Your motor has a sticking start switch. It's centrifugal and switches between the start and run windings by centrifugal force. The newer PSC motors do not have a switch so is not prone to that issue. Cost of a replacement motor will not break the bank.
