Help plumbing add on boiler
Hello all. First time posting. I have New Yorker add on boiler and on oil fired boiler. I tried to post a sketch of it. Basically there was an old coal boiler there prior and some of the piping I hope to reuse. The supply side of the wood boiler is plumbed to the supply side of the oil. There is a make up water piped to the oil boiler on the return side. Should I do the same with the wood?
One circulator on the oil boiler return is for the hot water heater. The other is for the heat in the house (one zone). Do I just plumb the return side & circulator for the wood boiler anywhere on the return side of the oil boiler or should it be before the oil burner circulator for the heating zone. Check valves?
How would I wire it? what controls what?
Thanks in advance

Hi RH, is there any way you might be able to post a larger diagram? I can't see/read that one at all!
Try setting up a free account at Photo and image hosting, free photo galleries, photo editing and uploading to a PUBLIC album there. That way we can enlarge the drawing to original upload sized. The forum resizes uploads to fit the screen and no way to blow up.

Do you have the manual for the New Yorker? If not, see if you can find a place to download on the web. There should be manufacturer suggested wiring and controls in that manual.
What is the model of the New Yorker?
What make and model is the oil boiler?
You've got a bit of homework to do... some stuff you need to fully understand before you start.
SAFETY is a key concern here. Ask yourself all of the "what if's" and have good answers for those questions.
I'll ask the first one as a 'pop quiz' partly to help me understand where you stand in comprehending what all is involved in a project like this. Ready?
WHAT IF:
You have a good wood fire going in the boiler and the power goes out to your home. Pumps will stop circulating the heated water. What happens then?
I'll give you the answer after you take a crack at it.
