Zone Valve Sufficient for Boiler Isolation?

Is a Taco zone valve sufficient for boiler isolation when closed or is a ball valve neccesary as well?

Thanks for the quick response. I will be putting a ball valve on the other side of the loop.

You mean isolation as in 'close for servicing to isolate system from boiler and not leak' ?

In that case I would NOT rely on a zone valve for that purpose.

I'm adding an indirect to my current booiler. I would like to have the indirect zone fully isolated in case I need to replace the indirect in the future.

Install full port ball valves on both supply and return of the new indirect zone.

It is usually recommended that ONE INCH piping be used for an indirect when supplied from an existing system and using a zone valve.
