What, you don't have a 55 gallon drum and a stack of firewood?

Everything still working good?

If you're like me you would have dissected the old pump for an autopsy... are you like me? If so, did you find anything really whack?

I do have a stack of fire wood but I don't have the 55 gal drum. Haha

Everything is still working fine. And I do want to take apart the old pump. I will let you know what I find. Unfortunately have been very busy with work the past couple months and have a 5 month old so my spare time is niltch.

NJ, I was poking around the site and remembered that I never posted about the failure mechanism of the circulator pump.

I took a good look at the bad pump and everything seemed to look normal except one of the large capacitors in the electrical circuit had a large bubble and burn. So this would be the reason the pump decided to give up. I suppose I could have just replaced that capacitor to repair the pump but the system is still running so I'm happy.

That was probably the 'start capacitor'. If you still have the old pump you might consider getting a new cap for it ( $25 I think ) and keeping it on the shelf as a spare.

Thanks for the follow-up !
