Steam to Electric

In a Carrier Air Handler that set up for steam heat (not sure of the size but it acomodates a 12.5 ton AC unit) Is it possible to install electric heating elements and eliminate the steam part? It has a 5hp motor running the fan which I'm sure would need to be geared down. Why I'm asking is because there's a chance we may be getting rid of the boiler depending on what the estimate is.I'm just looking for alternatives.
Thanks,
Joe

Hello...

Are you saying you want to get rid of your steam heat boiler and install a HVAC system? Forced hot air with a/c and duct work?

This is in a large commercial establishment, right? No way a 5 HP motor is in a blower for a residence!

What's the BTU rating?

What type of fuel do you have now? Oil? Does the steam boiler supply heat to any other areas or just the steam coil?
