Bronze vs Copper Fittings

In some pictures, and in a plumbing supply store, I saw some fittings (tees, elbows, etc.) that had a bronze look, and didn't look like the copper ones I'm used to seeing. Were they in fact copper and not bronze? Is there a reason to use one or the other?

If they were threaded fittings they were brass, and can be used anywhere copper can.

There's also CAST COPPER fittings that look like brass/bronze as well... for example:

NL12-08 - Cello NL12-08 - 1/2" CxCxF Tee (Lead Free)

NJ that's what it was. They said c x c x f or whatever on them too. Why do they call them that?

One of three zones not heating, even with manual valve on

We have a comfort zone 2 thermostat with three zones and one of the zones is not heating. The other two zones work fine. We opened the valvle manually in the cold zone and activated the heat in the other two zones but heat wont come on in the third. The pipe will get hot in the cold zone and the small pump underneat warms up slightly. The pump for the cold zone does not have a lever. We think the problem started when the heat and cold air were acidentally turned on at the same temperature. Does that mean that the valve automatically shut off? How do we activate it? It s been 18 hours and we are calling the dealers as well. Thank you!Read More

Boiler Size Reason?

Just to make sure I have it right... Whether your boiler is correctly sized or oversized, it supplies water at the same temp. The reason [I]not[/I] to have an oversized boiler is because you'll be using the larger firing rate (whether it be oil or gas) to maintain the same temp as you could with a smaller, correctly sized boiler, which is costing you money in fuel.
