Oil Tank Monitor

I am looking for a monitor that can detect the amount of gallons I have left in my tank and also to monitor how many gallons that have left the tank.

My end goal is that I want to see how many gallons I have used and how many gallons I am using daily etc. Does anyone know if there is a product out there that can do this?

I have a 275 gallon oil tank

Oil flow meters are VERY expensive, so forget that off the bat.

I think the easiest way to do what you want (monitor usage in gallons) is to connect an ELAPSED TIME METER to the OIL VALVE on your burner (this is presuming that your burner is new enough that it has a solenoid valve on the burner) and do the math...

For example, if your firing rate is 1.00 GPH, then the time meter will display directly in gallons.

If your firing rate is more or less, you just multiply the time by your firing rate to obtain gallons.

As far as tank gauges... I don't think you'll find one that's directly calibrated in gallons.

Scully golden gauge reads gallons. Pretty sure it's a string gauge.
