zone valve motor
hi -
i heat the house with a hot water furnace equipped with 8 Zone valve motors
Some motor vales are Erie AG13A02A and VT2343 and others are Honeywell V8043G1125.
The valves bust frequently and am wondering if it could be related to water ciculating into the system since its has a rusty color when it drips from the pipes. Do I have to drain the pipes once a while or need to put an additive to the water?
Also, aer there any equivalents valve motors that are cheaper that Honeywell and Erie?
Thanks

The water in a hot-water system will always turn brown - it is harmless and not the cause of your zone-valve issues. Don't drain or flush the system. You will inject dissolved oxygen into the system which is harmful, and the water will promptly turn brown again.
If you have water dripping, it is because you have leaks in your system. They must be fixed promptly.
